The heart is the “core” of a person. It contans love, longing, faith, fear. In folklore, fire and words are sent to the heart, it’s shackled with iron hoops, it’s locked with a key. “`The heart is burning,” “the heart is zealous.” Born “from the heart” – literally, “from the core.”
In the cultural context, the “heart” was a general concept of something internal, of a substance moving inside, which tells about a person’s state – “the heart skipped a bit”, “the heart is sinking”, “the heart is broken”.
A heart that is resistant to negative emotions and influences is considered healthy. In the heart, in the core the soul was located – “zealous heart”, “wide”, “with all my heart”, “pure heart”.
The heart is perceived as the source of love feelings. Love is the fire that makes every heart burn, melt and boil. Heart is passion, heart shapes our character.
